BRIDGE HOUSE
Transitional Living Program
The Bridge House Program is a transitional housing service managed by SAFE. Its purpose is to provide temporary housing for individuals with or without minor children who do not have permanent or adequate housing.
Bridge House Provides:
• Housing for up to one year |
• Help by providing options and advocacy in securing permanent housing |
• Assistance with life-skills training |
• Assistance accessing all social services a resident may need or be entitled to |
• Advocacy with all social services |
Eligibility:
• Homeless for 5 days |
• 18 years old or older |
• Homeless with or without minor children in temporary living arrangements or in emergency shelter |
• Individuals with or without minor children who have been physically or mentally abused and choose to find new housing |
• High functioning with special needs who have no adequate place to live and are working towards independence |
• Unemployed or under employed |
• Elderly who need services and are looking for permanent housing |
• Minors emancipated by the court (need court papers as proof) |
Responsibilities:
• Rent is 1/3 of your income |
• Function independently with limited supervision |
• Abide by all Bridge House guidelines |
• Participate in goal planning with staff |
• Apply for any and all social services available to you |
• Actively pursue all housing options |
• Participate in a one year follow up study |
• Attend house and group meetings |
